Football'N'Physics

This post is an example of what I learned this week in Physics. This week I learned about the relationships between variables. We did this in our lab using a pendulum and we changed variables such as the weight and string length. For my example I chose an image of a football. The relationship I chose is the faster you run the harder you hit. As your speed increases, the impact of your hit increases. As your speed decreases, the impact of your hit decreases. So in order to get a big hit in football, you need to build your speed because the more speed you have before contact, the harder your hit will be. From this first lesson I learned that science is not only something learned in school, it is a subject that teaches us about sports as well, and in my case its football!

  1. I liked how you used the example of football because that is the sport you play...funny how we use Physics in our everyday lives!
